Zamir Ahmed "Muzmir" is a distinguished Urdu poet, editor, translator, and publisher based in Kolkata. Born on 10th December 1954, he has spent his entire life in service of the Urdu language and the wider Muslim intellectual community of the Indian subcontinent.

He is the founder of Ilhaam Publication and serves as the proprietor, printer, publisher and editor of the Urdu daily Awaaz-e-Azadhind, a respected newspaper published from Kolkata that has served readers for decades.

Holding a B.A. (Hons.) in Urdu, Muzmir is fluent in six languages — Bengali, Urdu, Hindi, English, Persian, and Arabic — a rare breadth of linguistic mastery that has been foundational to his most celebrated scholarly work.
